Paul Pogba is apparently ready to commit his future to Man United…
Manchester United have problems on the field, while in turn, the issues are mounting off it. Unhappy players due to a lack of playing time sit atop that list.
There are also some stars who have winding down contracts. Perhaps the biggest situation United have to deal with right now is Paul Pogba’s contract.
The Frenchman has already left Old Trafford for free once. Imagine if the Old Trafford club let that happen again? Well, personally I’d be all for it as he’s done more harm than good in my opinion. The Reds could well think otherwise as they look to protect their asset.
According to L’Equipe, with the translation coming from the Manchester Evening News, Pogba is ready to sign a new United contract under one condition.
That condition? He wants to become the highest-paid player at the club, jumping ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo.
As always, money talks. Pogba will likely end up playing his football for the side who are prepared to pay him the most. At the end of the day, it’s his profession and he has every right to follow the money.
The question I have is this; should United give him such a huge contract given his inconsistency? I honestly wouldn’t.
Sure, his talent is undeniable. However, the consistency hasn’t been in his game ever since his return to Old Trafford. I’m starting to wonder whether he’s not the right fit for this current style. Either that, or his heart just isn’t in it anymore because he always looks sublime for France.
This is yet another big decision Solskjaer has to make, while there’s every chance that he wouldn’t even be managing Pogbba if the player does decide to sign another new contract here…
