Barcelona are the best club in the world in the 21st century.
The Blaugrana have been chosen by the IFFHS (International Federation of Football, History and Statistics) as the most outstanding club of the decade (2011-2020).
Curiously, Barcelona already achieved this distinction in 2001 and 2010, so their dominance over the last few years is clear.
Barcelona‘s last decade is impressive in terms of trophies – two Club World Cups, two Champions Leagues, six LaLiga Santander titles – but the trophies won is not the only factor taken into account by the IFFHS, as matters such as the number of matches won, goals scored and goals conceded are also important.
Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Sevilla
The IFFHS ranking is led by Barcelonawith 2,877 points, followed by Real Madrid, with 95 points less (2,782), and Bayern Munich (2,594.5).
Fourth in the table are Paris Saint-Germain and in fifth spot are Atletico Madrid. In other words, there are three Spanish clubs in the top five. The next Spanish club are Sevilla in 13th.
Gremio Porto Alegrense are the first non-UEFA club to appear in the ranking, coming in 14th place.
By year, Barcelona were voted as the best club in 2011, 2012 and 2015, Real Madrid in 2015 and 2017, and Bayern Munich in 2013 and 2020
REVEALED! Man Utd Coach Solskjaer And Erling Haaland Transfer Talks!
Manchester United Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has kept on calling Erling Haaland to convince him to join the Premier League club, MySportDab reports.
The race for the best young striker in the world is now getting more interesting.
It’s only 18 months ago that Borussia Dortmund signed Haaland from RB Salzburg for £18million.
Dortmund look likely to miss out on Champions League football for next season, which could determine Haaland’s future at the club.
The Champions League is a major source of income for a club like Borussia Dortmund, among others after the financial issue caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
Haaland was clearly frustrated after he scored twice on Saturday but Dortmund ended the match with a 2-2 draw at Koln.
The draw at Koln leaves Dortmund with a more difficult task to finish in the Bundesliga top four this season.
MySportDab understands that Haaland could now move on from Borussia Dortmund and continue his football career elsewhere.
Manchester United are one of many clubs in the race to sign Haaland after missing out on the opportunity over 13 months ago.
According to Spanish Newspaper AS, United Coach Solskjaer has keep on calling Haaland regularly to convince him to sign for Manchester United.
Solskjaer and Haaland have remained in contact ever since their days together at Molde.
Solskjaer even travelled to Salzburg in 2019 to talk with his former player and discuss a transfer plan.
However, Haaland snubbed Solskjaer to join Borussia Dortmund, and the decision did not affect their relationship.
The 20-year-old is now the youngest football player to reach 20 UEFA Champions League goals.
Solskjaer was asked about Haaland’s record in the Champions League.
He said: “We all knew it would happen but at 20 years old to score that number of goals, he is fantastic.
“There’s not many more like him out there and if I want to say anything to him I’ll say in Norwegian.”
The bigger problem is that Manchester United have serious contenders when it comes to signing Haaland.
Manchester City, PSG, Liverpool, Chelsea and Real Madrid have all been linked with Haaland this summer.
